Quote Gamespot:
The 2007 Game of the Year prize went to Aquaria, the previously unhonored 2D fantasy game from indie shop Bit Blot. After stumbling verbally, one of its designers admitted, “This is a terrible speech.” But the massive applause proved the audience didn’t really care.

Congrats to all the winners, and a well biased “Hell Yeah” for Aquaria’s win in the SMA’s!
Oh MAN, I was sitting here waiting to post once I heard the news. I never woulda thought to check Kotaku…
CON-FREAKIN’-GRATS Derek & Alec! I’m so happy for you guys. :D
Congrats to everyone else too, of course. :)
Aquaria comes down with the grand prize… that was very cool. (and congrats on some nice prize $$). They did all the other awards first and Aquaria kept coming up and Everyday shooter kept winning! (big congrats to Jonathan there too). I thought for sure he was going to grab the grand prize as well. Roomer in the crowd has it that the win was decided by as little as 1 vote. (not to take away anything from Derek, Alec, and Jenna’s achievement)
I want a full run-down on their speeches. Stat!
Awesome news for Derek. Congrats!
Saying that, this is also perked my interest for Everyday Shooter, it looked an interesting idea from the vid, but this obviously means it’s a lot more special than that…
“Awesome news for…” (and Alec and Jenna of course)
Everyday Shooter looked pretty good, and the fact ti won several awards proves it.
Congrats to Derek, Alec, and Jenna! Aquaria is set to be the Next Big Thing, or, at least, Some Big Thing.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!
Dudes, Congrats. So happy :’)
Congrats, Bit Blotters!
Congrats on Aquaria, guys! Your work isn’t only brilliant, but very inspiring too - so is your victory.
Big up!
Hell Yeah!!! Congrats all of y’all!
…now if only we could play it grin
Congratulations to Derek and Alec!
Woohoo, top news guys! By the rules of the IGF, doesn’t Derek have to buy everyone he meets a beer?
:)
Well that somehow was pretty conceivable… but still not self-evident. So big conrats to you three bit blotters!
what does SMA stand for?
What on earth does SMA stand for anyway? Glad you won it though ^_^
Seumas McNally Award.
I.e., The Grand Prize.
SMA = Seamus McNally Award i.e. the BIG one.
Serious Monkeyness Award?
Aw damn, too late…
awesome! by the looks of it, you guys sure as hell deserve it! congrats derek and alec :o
Well done the BitBlot guys! Can’t wait to play it…
Same goes for Everyday Shooter. That looks really cool, too.
Hehe real international local heroes…
