Hey Derek, SMF is so bugged, how about doing the jump to MyBB? It’s a very good board, free and with a great community behind, and they fix everything ASAP.

There’s also a “all boards to MyBB” script that converts users\threads and datas to MyBB. And SMF is supported.

The only bad thing is that the skin will need to be adapted or redesigned.. But no more panda sickness every month so will be a great thing on the long run.
