We’re planning on releasing this week. Unity, the tech we use, has a version update for their web player due on Monday. We may wait for that, depending…
Either way, it’s soon!
Movius
‘Jetpack Brontosaurus?’
Apatosaurus would be rolling in it’s fossilised grave.
Mayor McCheese
This looks great, Matthew.
Gr.Viper
I wonder, if someone’ll shoot another Jurassic Park based aroud this jeep…
Eclipse
Off-Road Velociraptor Safari Will Teach Raptors a Damn Lesson, but someone needs to teach the game 3d artist that Velociraptors weren’t like this… and don’t have plumes

Yet more evidence that B games are the new A games.
Also, jetpacks could explain how Apata/Brontosaurians are able to support their huge weight – swamp-dwelling be damned! Possibly the jetpacks didn’t make it into the fossil record because they were stolen by small furry mammals?

You talk like you’ve ever seen a raptor.
Now, i dare you, go find a chicken skeleton somewhere and try proving to me that chickens have feathers, using only skeleton.
Not to mention that feathers and scales arent that different in the first place.
PHeMoX
They do not just find bones… sometimes you’ll find fossil imprints which give away clues about feathers, scales and skin… Raptors probably did have some feathers at certain parts of their body, but definitely not like this… they are not dodo birds. ;)

RAPTOR SAFARI RULES!
Groogokk
I don’t want to spoil the fun, but I think this will be the kind of game that you enjoy playing for like ten minutes, but that you never touch again after that.
raigan
i thought everyone knew about dinosaur feathers! scales are sooooo 80s-dinosaur.
Wrestlevania
How do you make Carmageddon, the bestest game everer, even better? Add dinosaurs!
Really looking forward to playing this one — only a week to go, too, supposedly.
Bobjim
OH MAN! I can’t wait to play the hell out of this game and laugh my ass off.
fish
more games should be built around stupid-awesome ideas like that.
we need more velociraptor safaris and metal wolf chaos. and volcanos.
sapient volcanos.

We very clearly addressed the feather controversy–read the press release on the website…

Raptor Fun Fact #21 – If you tie a bow around a raptor’s neck, it might cause Christmas. Spontaneously.
Holy god, this game looks awesome. I cant wait for release. I will hold my breathe untill then. Even if I pass out.

Respect for Flashbang Studios +99

Actually it’s a well known fact that Raptors did in fact need monocles. Their eyesight was too poor, to reed their newspapers without, the poor sods.
As for the feathers, again, read any Wikipedia entry and you shall find that one strain did in fact evolve to sprout feathers instead of scales. This evolution mainly took place to camouflage them somewhat better in their pimped Cretaceous jeeps.

Did you take a look at the pictures where they compare the ulna of a velociraptor with those of a turkey? There’s a *massive* difference and in my opinion the quill knobs on the velociraptor bones aren’t even *visible* … Hence why by far not all scientists agree with this, the actual consensus is that they *might* have had feathers… this socalled proof is rather controversial itself.
What they really found by the way, were indentations, not knobs…
Pip
PHeMox, stop being such an indentation.
PHeMoX
I was born a moron, I can’t really help it. ;)
Carlz0r
Watch Discovery Channel moar!
They’ve been saying for at least like 5 years now, that some dinos MAY have had feather-like things on their bodies.
Bobjim
Close to being a week!
PHeMoX
*Watch Discovery Channel moar!*
I really should watch it less actually, it’s driving me insane how many times they dare to repeat shows and documentaries. However interesting just about all of them are.
*They’ve been saying for at least like 5 years now, that some dinos MAY have had feather-like things on their bodies.*
Yes, which is just about the exact current consensus about the whole thing. That my friend was my point. :)
I just said I was a moron, because I felt like I was complaining just to make a point that doesn’t really matter thát much anyways when it comes to the game. I mean, who really cares if their Velociraptors do have feathers, right??
