Did it just get awesome in here?

… about the graphics being 90s… they’re delibrately like that, the game was released in 2005. If the game designers wanted nice graphics of this style, I’m sure they would have put them in. It’s a design decision for the “ugly” graphics, which is why I’m fine (and if anything, prefer it). But eh, maybe I’m just a purist, but I think it loses some of its charm. Like falcon’s eye nethack vs ascii or even tileset nethack.

Incidentally, remaking the graphics of a game barely 4 years old seems kind of … odd.

Graphics and music look great, but I’m also sharing keyboard/difficulty concerns. As for being Wii only, that confuses me more than anything. Perhaps it’s a piracy concern? Aside from that I’m clueless as to why these titles (CS and LM) are being remade for the Wii only, knowing how the hardcore supporters are in the Windows culture.

I agree it got awesome in here, but “ADHD kid that saw a squirrel” awesome. Fast burst, and nothing long lasting afterwards.

PS: Swear to Allah and Mohamed and his prophets, if you people can’t politely sound your complaints and compliments without sounding like elitist whiny girls, I swear I’ll break my vows of netiquette and start trolling you dweebs.

    Goddamn it.

I think I just shit my pants.

La-Mulana is my personal favorite indie game, and one of my favorite games period. I have played through it half a dozen times since its release and I still enjoy the journey every time I take it. I have no problem with the new graphics as long as the game play remains intact.

I personally like the new look. I loved the look of the original, but personally I think the game is great for a lot of reasons beyond its deliberately retro roots. Hell, if someone remade it with state of the art high resolution 3d rendered graphics I wouldn’t have a problem with it as long as it kept the spirit of the game. That is what makes a great retro re(or de)make isn’t it?

I’m kind of curious if they’re going to do anything with the star/moon/sun puzzle in the mausoleum. To the best of my knowledge nobody ever quite figured out how to do it outside of trail and error.

    Huh? It’s a 6 sequence cycle. I figured it out…

Of course, it’s a puzzle where trial and error is faster than actually determining the underlying reason they change.
