The Copenhagen Game Collective has released their 2-8 player party game, B.U.T.T.O.N. (Brutally Unfair Tactics Totally O.K. Now), for the PC and Xbox 360. You can also buy the game from Steam. The game is on sale right now for GDC at $2.70 (normally $3.00).

It seems like they have added a bunch of stuff to the game which is awesome. This was really fun to play at the GAMMAIV party last year. Congrats to these dudes on their success.

    Warioware Gamecube much?

  • Squink

What this needs is more annoying indie hipsters in the commercial. They should ask around on TIGSource.

  • Ada

Honestly i do not see the point of this game. Th whole darn thing makes no sense.

  • Flaime

I believe that Ada that there is some real point and that with some friends for a few minutes but not more than that.

Point? The point is for a bunch of unoriginal wannabe game designers to make money with an easy-to-code product and no market research or any real idea of what the industry really is, what gamers want or what games should be.

99% of indie games are such unbearable trash that you wonder what the hell they are even thinking. Same thing is happening in indie rock, not that it was ever any good but now it's worse than ever before, they are just hipsters copying from each other.

Advice to would-be designers: Don't make a roguelike. Don't make yet another stupid platformer. Don't make YET ANOTHER geometry wars game, Ikaruga clone or boss-fight vertical shooter.

Come up with something original, interesting and fun to play. Also, “fun to play” trumps “original and interesting” by a HELL OF A LONG SHOT. If you have a totally original game idea but it's not fun to play, don't bother– you're much better off making an awesome, polished clone of Geometry Wars.

But if it's not original and interesting as well, you should probably not even bother.

Also these “unsure of himself potato boy against greyish purple background platformer games” need to die.

Basically the people who make 95% of these games are flamingly gay. That's fine for the other indie gays but the fact that they are by and for gays limits their market share to a drastic degree.

you write your novel yet…douche nugget

  • Lugburz

Actually I've written two 300 page novels so far this year.

Is “douche nugget” one of those hipster insults? Personally, I turned to ash as soon as you said that.

  • Lugburz

And also I have every bit as much right to express my opinion as you do. If you don't like it, that's tough shit.
