Gemini Rue

Gemini Rue is a new sci-fi adventure game created by Joshua Nuernberger and published by Wadjet Eye Games, which developed The Shivah and also published Erin Robinson’s Puzzle Bots. The story revolves around two people: an ex-assassin searching for someone on a bleak, rainy planet, and another man who wakes up in a hospital after having his memories wiped.

Adventure Gamers has called this “the best Wadjet Eye title to date”, noting that the game has easy puzzles and a compelling storyline that you can play through in around 7 to 8 hours. I played through the demo myself, and it was intriguing enough that I’ll probably buy the full version for $15 to find out what happens next. The full version also comes with in-game director’s commentary, which I’m curious about.

I'm sure you'll love this one Derek. Gemini Rue is a truly brilliant adventure game.

It's one of my favorite adventure games, despite having played nearly all of the critically-acclaimed adventure games (including EVERY Lucas Arts adventure.)

  • Rivon

Looks very similar to Beneath A Steel Sky which is a good thing. I hope I'll be able to buy it soon :)

I'm really looking forward to playing this.

I like the style but the demo is way too short with no need to think much at all, and there's no example of this “combat” the options screen indicates to know if I'll like that element either. I guess I'll wait for a sale as it's too much of a risk atm. I liked the real time element at the appartment though, hopefully they make good use of that throughout the game, but avoiding frustrating moments.

I also like that the portaits and speech bubbles are optional, I think it feels much better with the old school colored text over the currently speaking character.

Beneath a Steel Sky meets Flashback? I'm sold.

Just played through the demo… and immediately bought the full version. Awesome atmosphere, decent voice acting, excellent writing, and Blade Runneresque background music. I'm so, so, so sold on this.

This game is really, really well done! Haven't played a good point'n'click-adventure in many, many years. I definitely recommend this one. Great work!

I loved it, end it totally delivered in more ways that I expected. So if you like Adventures and/or dark sci-fi this is for you.

Played the demo and boy was it gorgeous. I just might have to pony up some cash for this…

The aesthetic and action elements remind me a bit of Rise of the Dragon. Nice.

This makes me think of Yahtzee's Chzo Mythos games (or whatever they're called). The general appearance does anyway. Has anyone played both and can compare them?
