The Iconoclasts, by Konjak

Joakim Sandberg, the creator of Noitu Love 2 and Chalk, has released a short, work-in-progress version of his latest project, citing a lack of funds as the reason why its development has been halted. The Iconoclasts is based on another platformer which Joakim abandoned two years ago, called Ivory Springs. In both games you play a young girl who secretly fixes machines in a world where being a mechanic is outlawed.

Joakim is seeking advice about his predicament on his homepage, so if you want to help, you should follow the updates going up there.

Sweet, still have the original demo of this game on my computer. Can't wait to see the updates. Really want to this game finished.

Say, would anyone happen to know what you do when you get to the lift in the desert with the O,(triangle) and X's? I don't seem to get the trick..

FINALLY; something worthy of the front page.

My guess is that's as far as the game goes so far….

I played the demo a little bit. I couldn't play for very long at a time; no gamepad support that I could see, and my knuckles started to hurt in the position you have to hold your fingers. But I did like it.

    Absolutely gorgeous!

I got no problem playin' it in my xbox controller. Loved the graphics and the control responsivity is pretty good.

This is a real gem of a project. The artwork is really beautiful, but the animation and humour is where the game really shines. If this were finished it could be one of the indie greats, and I'm sure it would sell well on Steam. Steam is a must though, it's the glue holding the PC gaming industry together.

Controller support is present. My Logitech Rumblepad 2 works great, except grabbing ledges is a little trickier than with the keyboard.

Ah yeah, I had a sinking feeling that it was…

    What a beautiful looking game!

Gosh it looks gorgeous. Sandberg has done some beautiful pixel art for this game.

This has to be finished. :V
