Here’s a video showing off some of the early quests in wollay’s Cube World, a voxel-based action RPG that’s currently in development. There’s also a feedback thread for the game on TIGForums.

Shut up and take my money!
But serious, this look great, i can imaginate some epic dragon fight that end up destroying all the scenary, maybe some magic and legendary weapons that can end up creating big holes. I hope they add alot of fun stuff to the game, zelda and skyrin style.

I can’t begin to express how excited I am for this game!

Looks fantastic.
But those controls seem a little soft and loose from looking at it. I’ll have to actually play the game when it comes out.

Add crafting and mining and it’s Terraria 3D. (Which is not the same thing as Minecraft.)

I love the graphics and the colour palette, although I do wonder: Is the choice to use voxel-based graphics a purely aesthetic choice, or does it impact on gameplay in some meaningful way as well, a-la Minecraft?

The amazing quest design and tactical combat make this look really impressive!

Looks extremely good. But I’m a bit worried about the messy combats.

with all sentiment left in me for Mojang, this is what minecraft should have been… can’t wait for it to come out!

The combat and gameplay looks a lot like Egoboo.

if the character’s are made out of small voxels, why is the world made out of minecraft sized cubes? it’s inconsistent! it should all have the same voxel size. FUCK THIS SH.. I mean, I expected more from the author, who is one of my best friends

Seriously STFU
King4n
The world blocks are made of many smaller voxels.
Thunderpizza
guuhh this looks so good!

Actually, I think that’s a great idea. It gives the “foreground” (eg. characters and items) some distinction from the “background”, so the two are instantly distinguishable.

Looks like the character slides around a fair bit, he’s going to have to tighten those controls up a bit before I delve into my pockets for cash.
Thomas
Probably a bit of both, voxels lend themselves to “cheap” (computational cost) destructible environments.
