No, not the one by the twins. Imagine Marble Madness but with exploration as it’s central theme, and the world pictured above as your playground.

Martin’s remake of this classic C64 game will feature:
– Full 3D OpenGL graphics

– Original game map plus new ones

– Isometric and first-person viewpoint

– Original and new soundtrack

The game will be released sometime in February 2007 as open source for Linux, Windows and MacOS X with a map editor included.

    OS X as well?

    Absolutely awesome.

Never got into this game myself even on my CPC (which was supposed to have been the best version on 8 bits anyway). Just found the gameplay annoying rather than fun.

However this looks like a fantastic way of updating the game for those who do like it. Very nice work. That’s what remaking is all about (in my opinion anyway)

That screenshot makes me want the game. It looks more accomplished and worthy than that other one by the guy who did gridwars.

I love the idea of exploration in a game type like this on something that scale. Massive new community-driven worlds. Could be good

In the thread, Martin adds: “I will make a release of the game before the ‘official’ release to allow users to create and submit maps for the final game if anyone wishes to do that. It would be nice to have as many (well thought out) maps as possible in the final release.”
