Apricots

Apricots is a ghetto fabulous little plane-flying game where you try to score points by shooting down enemy planes and dropping bombs satellites, fuel tanks, and antiaircraft guns. You lose points by dying or blowing up civilian buildings. The first pilot to have over 1400 points and then land on their airstrip wins.

It’s a really fun, cute game and you should enjoy it if you don’t expect too much. Getting into dogfights and crashing into little pixel buildings is great.

Kenzya you can only fire bullets without getting destroyed is that you stop pressing the up button and then fire !!!

no you turn invisible but the only one ive seen do that is the little black plane. is it possible to change planes?

It’s a fun game. It would be cool to have some land based vehicles as well.

To change planes, go into apricots.cfg and change the value of PLANE1-PLANE6.

yeah that was it. but this game is damn near impossible. because you lose points for everything. you lose points for getting hit. then you lose points for crashing even after you’ve been hit and theres nothing you can do about it. you lose points when your buildings get destroyed. it sucks. you lose points for just about every thing that isn’t flying, dropping bombs, and shooting.
in the end you only have dog fights in which case the stealther or the other jet thats main speed is faster than you even though its the same type of jet.

and yet i keep playing it. its one of those games where absolutely everything is against you and you wanna destroy your computer when you lose. then you think well maybe i’ll win if i try again. then rinse and repeat.

Yeah, it took me about 10 games to start getting positive scores, and another 10 tries to start actually winning.

Basically, don’t destroy houses, skyscrapers, trees, huts or yourself, and you’ll be golden.

Destroy enemy planes, their fuel tanks, all of the power plant type places, and the radar dishes etc. next to enemy bases for points. Then, once you reach the Score of Win (I think it’s 1400), fly back to your base to win the game. Alternatively, you could just suicide, as long as you’re at least 25 points over the win score (death = -25 points).
