Knytt Stories Level: Gustav’s Daughter

Nifflas has released a new official level for Knytt Stories, called Gustav’s Daughter. It’s a short level with some tough jumping parts. It also shows off a few cool tricks of the engine, like an overworld map! Very enjoyable. To get at it, go here and click on “Other Levels.”

It’s a .bin file? What am I supposed to do with that? All the others were executables that installed full levels …

Oh … apparently you open the game, select Install Level, then drag the bin file on to the screen, and it installs.

Fun. Is the ending line supposed to hint at an immediate change or just foreshadowing in the future, I wonder?

It’s *really* strange seeing the picture for this level. I’m still surprised Nifflas used my tileset for his level. :S

Tr00jg, I actually really like that tileset. Just finished playing the level, and – while short – it is great to be playing KS again. Nifflas is a platforming genius.

I tried the level editor, but lost all patience with it; it seems like it could have been made more practically. Stamping each part of the fore-ground and background one tile at a time just doesn’t strike me as the best or easiest way to do things.

I’ve played most of Nifflas’s expansion levels and liked them all quite a bit! This one is hard, but in a fair and fun-to-play way. It’s a bit short and not as atmospheric as some of the others, though.

Yeah, I’m working on a level right now. Tedious is a really great word to describe it.

But damnit, it WILL be finished. Just probably not this month. :(
