Retro Remakes

I forgot to mention, Retro Remakes is having a MEGA competition, with six categories you can enter, and a slew of sumptuous prizes for each category! Of course, the real reason you should enter is for the glory of gamedev… or to do something good for children with disabilities by entering the “Games For Helen” competition (and developing one-switch or eye-tracking games). Either way, this one looks to be a blast. The submission deadline is December 6th.

By the way, I’ve added an “EventRoll” to the sidebar to keep track of the various competitions and events going on in the independent gaming community. Feel free to make suggestions.

I’m stoked for this. I can’t wait to see what Pug Fugly comes up with this year.

My own entry is about %40 done now. Carnivac is also working on a pretty sweet little CPC-style platformer.

As for the EventRoll, I’d like to see slightly more friendly dates than NUMBER/NUMBER. As a Brit I find this all highly confusing. Perhaps using the three-letter abbreviations for the months would help?

  • Derek

Wait, you guys don’t use numbers over there?!

  • BeamSplashX

Like the month and day are the other way around.

    THE WRONG WAY. Blahblahblahteablahblahblahcrumpetsblahblah.

  • Moosader

Hmm, time to finish that ET remake I was doing in OpenGL…? ;o

  • deadeye

    You’re an evil person, Moosader.

We are going to be running IndieCade @ Open Satellite from October 10-17.

  • The Monster King Ren

I’d like to participate but the rule about having a splash screen of sponsors turned me off like a redhead that’s a actually a guy that I saw from behind. A guy with a beard.

  • haowan

    Liking the eventroll.

  • Jeremy

September 23rd is XNA Dream Build Play deadline.

  • Gravious

I vote we all use my date formatting:

    09 September, 2008

    no mistakes then.

  • http://koigames.com/ Koi Games

Nice, hoping for some good games.

  • PHeMoX

Nov 1st this year? Ow noes!?!? :p

    ^^

There is no way we would have got such an amazing list of prizes for everyone without this. It’s not much to ask I don’t think and you can release a version on your own site without the splash screen if you wish, only the entered version hosted on RR after the competition is required to have it.

Thanks for the pimpage, Derek. :D

Does Pyweek count as an indie event? :) The current competition is already running and will end next Sunday.
