TIGJam:UK Reminder, and Indie Arcade Eurogamer Expo

TIGJam:UK is a mere one week away! According to Corpus (who’s done loads to organise this thing, cheers!) 15 people have signed up so far, but there are still a few places left. If you haven’t gotten a ticket yet, you can still get one, but hurry up! Space is limited. Preliminary plans are to kick things off on Friday night with a Poppenkast style three hour game making contest, and see what happens from there.

You can find out some more information on the forums – this thread has a run down of who’s going, and this thread covers general discussion. The event’s taking place in Southbank House, Black Prince Road, London. More details to follow as we get closer to the event!

In other news, TJ:UK hosts Beatnik Games were at the Eurogamer Expo a couple of days ago with their game Plain Sight as part of the event’s Indie Arcade showcase, which also featured Multiwinia, World of Goo, and Psychosomnium among others. Oddbob was at the event too with his game, the excellent War Twat, and he’s got a write up and some lovely pictures up on the forums. From the sounds of things it was a pretty good show!

I definitely will not be able to attend to this year’s TIGJam:UK, which sucks. I’m only 15 and I wouldn’t be allowed to go on my own. For me to arrange to go with others would take a while, and that’s besides the fact that I currently lack money and a means of transportation.

However, so long as it is hosted again next year, I’ll make it one of my top priorities to go; I regret not being able to go this year.
I hope everybody that does go, however, has loads of fun.

I’d love to turn up if it happens again, but this year’s took me by surprise (“Good Lord! A TigJam!”) and the weekend was already booked up by the time it was announced.

I’d love to attend, but I’m 150 miles away and don’t really have the time or money to sneak down to London for 2 nights of indie-game-based debauchery.

Then too, while there’s several pygame/Blitz Basic projects hanging around on my HDD, I’ve yet to actually complete any games. Though I’m pretty good at system analysis (aka pointing and criticising) :D
