Circle Speedster is a platform puzzle game created by a Filipino guy named Roan Contreras (also known as “Toadfrogs”). In this game your player is a circle-shaped figure that has the ability to dash to another location without being affected by gravity (this is called “Speedster Mode”). The goal of each level is to collect all the arrow orbs and then go to the opened portal. There are different traps that might kill the player, but with the Speedster Mode the player can be immune to some traps.

The game has 25 levels with a boss battle. It also has a level editor to make your own levels and share them with other people (with the level code). I really liked this game and I recommend you play it.

It looks pretty sweet to me-I like the atmosphere.

Cool! Good to see my game here :)

Okay, so in level 16, you have to leap over the lasers (off the top of the screen) in order to catch that last arrow?

Unless I’m missing something, there’s no indication that this should be possible within the rules that have been set forth in previous levels…

If this is the case, Bad Game Designer!

If it’s NOT, what am I doing wrong? :)

    LOL, no!

You know what’s gonna happen if you leap off the screen :P

I’m not a Bad Game Designer, by the way…

  • Havarken

Poorly designed, and the graphics were very poor. Hasn’t that blur effect been overused in games? Like, really?

I know motion blur is used on a lot of games… But I liked it to put that effect in my game…

  • George

    Great game :).

The game is awesome! It reminds me of Pulseman for the sega Genesis

Well, I’m being a bit facetious when saying Bad Game Designer, but this is a good effort that’s hampered by flaws.

For instance, whenever the player dies, he/she must wait 4 seconds or so for the Speedster ‘meter’ to fill up.

Why, why, **WHY!?** Seriously. If I die 30 times in a level on average, that’s over **two minutes** I’ve spent doing nothing but staring at the screen and waiting. >:(

Also, if you leap/jump off the top of the screen, you can hop over the lasers, even though you should really be burnt to a crisp.

    Any hints for lvl 17?

@cvladan, at level 17… you should start by hitting 2 breakable blocks from speedster mode, make sure you can hit the down arrow box… you do the rest :P

@IndieJoJo, in that game… you have “unilimited” lives…

Also, Speedster mode makes you invincible in lasers…

Really loved the game, hammering space and moving while the fall height resets made some parts easy, but I like how those advanced techniques were required in the later levels.

Does anyone have any good custom levels?

  • Quantserve

    “created by a Filipino guy”

    Was that really necessary.

  • Paint by Numbers

@Quantserve: It’s always nice to get a bit of info on a game’s creator. What’s wrong with mentioning his nationality?

  • N.

I bet this guy made a fake account and wrote this himself. Seems fishy to me.

  • http://roancontreras.zxq.net/ Toadfrogs

    Your wrong N.

  • Banana

    N. is 100% correct

  • Raz

    Doesn’t work on wine :(

  • Detective

Then wrote by one of his Filipino friend, Felipe. This really looks like a description wrote by it’s creator. The Cool! “Good to see my game here :)” 4 hours after is not very subtle either.

Anyways, personnaly did not really enjoy the game.

  • Jotaf

Lol these guys are onto you. Cool game though!

    Thanks Jotaf :)
