Wolfire Quits Overgrowth to Work on New Game

In what’s undeniably an intelligent and well-considered move, Wolfire Games have decided to drop their current project, Overgrowth, to work on Small Tank, a game that features a very small and cute tank. Although furry-lovers are bound to be angry over the switch, I think I respect Wolfire’s decision. Because quite frankly, the world isn’t yet ready for a rabbit with boobs that aren’t at least a D cup.

The Overgrowth promotional nabbed me a free copy of Lugaru, so they can cancel for real for all I care.

I wish they would make Small Tank, it sounds pretty decent.

I respect there decision, and am looking foward to a great tank game, but didn’t they put a crapload of work inot onvergrowth? it must have been hard to just drop it all.

Yeah, it wasn’t the original post I had an issue with. A bit of old-fashioned fun-poking is fine if it’s in good fun, but I just think it’s incredibly mean-spirited how the moment you bring up something with… really just any recognizable ‘group,’ it just takes off into the default internet response of mass trash-talking. And if you point it out, you get to deal with “can’t you take a joke?” and accusations that you’re the thought-police or whatever. Give me a break.

Guys, this isn’t exactly the pinnacle of wit, and free speech isn’t a license to act like a dick without criticism. If you want to hop on the bandwagon and be the fourth or fifth person to rub in the fact that being different is funny, go nuts. I’m not going to stop you, but if I think you’re acting like a dick, I think it’s within my purview to say so.

But it really didn’t. Every single furry comment before your original post follows:

which, in context, are clearly not serious.

Casual jokes hardly ever are.

By far the most offensive comment was “the 6 people that still care about this game”, because it can’t be construed as light-hearted. Your criticism is misplaced.

There is no “bandwagon”; people’s honest, individually-reached opinions are in opposition to yours. And to say that merely “being different” was being made fun is effectively an accusation of ethnocentrism, racism, and so on.
