Bimboman

My Ikiki obsession continues. I was looking for Teppoman, because I’d heard good things about it, but ended up finding Bimboman (direct download) instead. You know how that is.

It’s a platform commando game, thematically very similar to Hakaiman. In this one you’re armed with a machine gun and a timed explosive. The explosive doesn’t actually do any damage, but knocks people (including yourself) around. You can use it to scale walls and gaps and other obstacles.

It’s good. Definitely not as good as Nijukin or Hakaiman, but it’s fun. The game crashed on me in zone 4 and I didn’t feel like playing through the first 3 zones again so I quit.

3 Ikiki’s out of 5!

(Edit) Controls:

Arrow Keys – Move / Aim

Spacebar – Jump

A – Crouch

F – Fire Gun

R – Reload Gun

D – Throw Bomb

    There’s also Teppodon which in my opinion is better than both Teppoman and Bimboman.

    Teppodon and Teppoman are great games yeah. Not as good as Nikujin, but better than Hakaiman, in my opinion. Kusariman is pretty good too, but the controls are too tough for me :/

    Ah, thanks, guys! :)

    CONTROLS PLZ ?!?!

    80% of the times I visit this site I get “undefined method `<=' for nil:NilClass" on the main page. It doesent bother me that much since I can still check the latest news by clicking the recent comments link, but still anyone know whats up? It's been like this for a week or two.

    @contra: we’re working on it.

  • Alex

    thank you <3

    a = crouch.

    by the way, can someone help me figure out how to download these games?

    My personal Ikiki ranking:

    1. Nikujin
    2. Hakaiman
    3. Teppodon
    4. Teppoman
    5. Bimboman
    6. Kusariman

    Kusariman would be listed higher if the controls wouldn’t make the game almost unplayable. The rest of Ikiki’s game is worth a look but they won’t keep you interested for a long time.

    Controls for Teppodon:

    shift = jump
    control = attack
    a = change weapon
    s = drop weapon
    down arrow = pick up stuff, open boxes, free hostages

    Same goes for Teppoman except you can’t have multiple weapons there.

    Controls for Kusariman:

    shift = jump
    control = use your grappling hook

    Hey Alex, see here for instructions:

    I liked Teppoman more than Teppodon. I find the weapon system clumsy and possibly unnecessary in the latter.

    Man, Teppoman is great! So far, for me, it’s:

    (1) Nikujin

    (2) Teppoman

    (3) Hakaiman

    Teppodon is interesting, but too complicated to really be as playable as the very similar Teppoman. In my opinion, anyway.

    As for Bimboman, it’s kinda cool, but probably not a game I’ll come back to. Still, overall I’m really impressed with Ikiki’s games so far. Even his little side projects/minigames have something cool about them.

    Kusariman is bloody hard, not to mention a total bitch to control :) I haven’t really decided whether or not I like it yet, heh.

    I’d really love some kind of context for all these games. What order were they created in? Which games did he intend as his “serious” projects, and which ones where just weekend minigames? Does he have a website anywhere?

    Anyone else have problems using gamepads with these games?

    I just use joytokey :)

    Rocketaro is the shit. Teppoman is still my favorite overall game, though Bimboman would be the best if every level was like the first. God what an awesome level.
