It’s not a dev kit. It’s a production Wii on top of a dev kit.

It can’t be a Wii dev kit. Wii devs kits have a green front faceplate.

Definitely a RVT-Reader. The green portion is obstructed by Amaya.

Wii dev kits are big and black and look nothing like a Wii. They have NDEV written on the front. Neither of those pictured is a dev kit. The test kits look like Wiis but have a red front plate. Hope that helps.

You’re only partially correct There is a unit called the NDEV–that’s for compiling and general use with the Wii SDK. But there are a few versions of the RVT-Readers, the most common being green and red.

Haowan, you’re not entirely correct. There is an NDEV unit, but it’s used mostly for compiling and general use with the Wii SDK. There are a few versions of the Wii debugs which resemble productions units, the most common ones are green or red.

Yeah test kits, debug kits, they look like production Wiis. Dev kits look like big black boxes. I work on Wii for my day job too :)

In that case, when will they release the special black version Wii that they used when they first revealed the console at Tokyo Game Show? The only color they seem to come in is white.
