Frozen Synapse, the simultaneous turn-based squad tactics game from Mode 7 Games, is half-off this weekend on Steam ($12.49). Also, a demo has been released for the PC version of the game (with Mac soon to follow).

Alastair John Jack has released his platformer Arvoesine as freeware. The game originally cost $5.

With three days remaining, the Humble Indie Bundle has added two new games to its roster: Steel Storm and Atom Zombie Smasher. Also, if you pay over the average cost (currently $5.63), you’ll receive the games from the HIB2: Braid, Cortex Command, Machinarium, Osmos, and Revenge of the Titans.
The IGF award-winning platformer Limbo has just been released on Steam for $9.99. It was also released on PSN a few weeks ago.

Yep, five more short pretty platformers. You’ll need the latest version of Knytt Stories to play these levels.
1. Dark Sea by SecretGlitch offers a mix of brutally hard but fair obstacles and amusing surprise deaths.
The development of the team-based multiplayer platformer King Arthur’s Gold continues at a fast clip, with builds 67 and 70 offering all kinds of new changes and features, like a capture-the-flag mode (now the default mode), an in-game map editor, and the addition of collapsible walls with improved physics (no more sky bridges!). What I only found out recently, however, is that the game rose quietly from the ashes of Link-Dead, Michał Marcinkowski’s dark and brutal sci-fi shooter. I had no idea!
Anyway, Michał goes into great depth explaining his reasons for dropping Link-Dead to work on King Arthur’s Gold, and as much as I enjoyed LD, it’s hard to argue against the success of KAG. The explanation is worth a read, if only for all of the insights into game design and development.
Terraria has received a large update that adds, among other things, “social slots” for equipment (these slots only affect your appearance), resolutions of up to 1920×1200, new characters and items, and improvements to multiplayer and server operation. The full list of changes can be seen here.
For the next three days, you can try out a browser-based build of Desktop Dungeons (Unity plugin required). This is the demo that QCF Design is showing off at E3.
The Beta 1.6 patch for Minecraft has been released. It fixes numerous bugs and adds craftable maps to the game, among other things.
Unknown Worlds has released a new beta build of their FPS/strategy hybrid Natural Selection 2, and I thought I’d post some of the latest videos from NS2HD that show off the game. The top video is from the spectator mode and after the jump there are three videos that take you through an entire match from alien perspective.
